Joe Fletcher & the Wrong Reasons

I recently caught Joe Fletcher & the Wrong Reasons at Maxwell’s in NJ. They were opening for The Devil Makes Three, who were also awesome, but for my money, Joe Fletcher was the better of the two. (I’m going to catch a lot of shit for that statement). If you dig rootsy southern country folk music in the vein of Steve Earle, Johnny Cash, Robert Earl Keen, Justin Townes Earle, Guy Clark, etc, you will definitely like Joe Fletcher & the Wrong Reasons. Their new album, White Lighter, is available to download free (and legally!) HERE.

If you are reading this in the NYC area (as most of you probably are), they will be coming through here soon with a bunch of dates:
Tue, July 19 Trash Bar, Brooklyn 10PM
Thu, July 21 Parkside Lounge, Manhattan 10PM
Fri, July 22 Pete’s Candy Store, Brooklyn 10PM
Fri, July 22 Rockwood Music Hall, Manhattan 1AM

There are a bunch of videos of the band in various incarnations on youtube. The video below is of the line-up I saw, which after watching some of the other videos, is the one I prefer. You just can’t beat the guitar/mandolin/double bass/drums arrangements. Enjoy and definitely check them out live if you get a chance.
