Release News
- WordPress 5.2 progress is trucking along, with the Beta 3 having been released a few days ago. If you are running WordPress on a PHP version under 5.6.20, the time you have to upgrade is getting shorter!
- Speaking of WP 5.2, Dashicons are being updated as part of the release, including 13 new icons.
Extending WordPress
- ACF Pro 5.8 RC2 is out and the developers have announced that the 5.8 release is slated for next week. I’m very much looking forward to playing around with it.
- WooCommerce made a bunch of people upset with their 3.6 RC1 release that included marketplace suggestions inside admin list tables, such as the products table. They took that into consideration and made some adjustments in their RC2 which dropped last week.
Grab Bag
- Pipdig, a company that sells premium WordPress themes has been having a bit of a rough time. Wordfence reported on some questionable code found in one of their plugins, and since then, things have only gone downhill. To be honest, I’d never heard of Pipdig before all of this, but I don’t think, in this case, the old phrase “there’s no such thing as bad publicity” hold up.
