Terrific Views and Amazing Tattoos

Back in New York. Trip was awesome and I’m really not quite ready to be back. Definitely would rather be out on Route 1 exploring with Edy. Oh well…that’s the nature of vacations I guess: if you aren’t somewhat sad to be home afterwords, it wasn’t a great trip.

Now on to the good stuff. I finally got around to uploading my favorite shots taken over the course of the last week or so. You can check them out here (or click the photo below).

One of my favorite parts of the trip was getting tattooed at Skull & Sword. Saying the shop is amazing is like saying Iron Maiden is just OK or Ampeg makes bass amps that are decent. (It’s an understatement is what I am getting at here…keep up with me). The shop is filled with some of the best tattooists around. Hell, the shop owner, Grime, basically changed the game and has influenced countless other tattooists (including Dan Belcher and Dustin Horan, who are responsible for the bulk of my own work). Edy and I each got traditional style ship tattoos drawn up and tattooed by Lango. What can I say, the guy does amazing work. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

Edy getting tattooed and the finished piece. Lango does really great black & grey work.

Edy took some shots of me getting tattooed. I am beyond happy with the piece. (FYI: I am singing along with Dio, not screaming in agony. IT GOES ON AND ON! ON AND ON! IT’S)
